I paddled out to shelter island in a bidarka, a sea worthy kayak. A bidarka has a frame that is designed to bend over waves. This bidarka is actually a two seater, but I went out alone this time. I've paddled to shelter island over a dozen times, but this was a particularly calm day.

Everyone always likes to ask about the state of Rick's cabin. Here is how it looked this weekend. The frame and roof are complete. This summer he is going to tackle the walls.

This is the sauna that I have helped built part of. It is a short timber frame building with a very good thick roof. Inside it has a cast iron woodstove.

Finally, this is the house I live at. I live in the right portion. The right tower is part of my loft.
