The Information Systems major of the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program is a research-oriented degree program that emphasizes management of Information Systems. The DBA program prepares a student for an academic career in teaching and research at the college or university level. All students are expected to complete several core courses in research methodology before starting their specialization in Information Systems.
The next admission for DBA is scheduled for Fall 2013. Submit your online application before February 1, 2013.
The DBA program with the IST major is designed to provide an academically rigorous experience to a diverse population of traditional and non-traditional students. The lock step structure allows for timely completion of the degree, whether you attend on a part-time or full-time basis. This website contains up-to-date information about the DBA program with IST major, its preparatory requirements, advanced analytical core and the major fields.
The basic preparation for the DBA program is the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, or a Master's in Information Systems, or their equivalent from a program accredited by AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
If the applicant’s Master’s degree is not from an accredited program, or the student does not have the appropriate Master's degree, he/she must present evidence of completing required background courses in Management and Information Systems. The admission committee can specify additional background courses before admitting the student to the DBA program. For a complete description of the preparatory requirements, please refer to the sections below.
In addition to the above background, an applicant must meet the Admission Requirements for the Graduate College as well as a score of at least 1,260 points based on the following formula:
(200 * Graduate GPA) + total GMAT score = 1260 points
A minimum score of 70th percentile on the GMAT is preferred. GMAT scores should be reported from a test taken within the five years immediately prior to application to the DBA program. The formula outlined above serves as a general guideline to the Doctoral Program. Faculty Committee makes the final admission decisions.
